The Community of Tonto Verde Just north of Fountain Hills lies the community of Tonto Verde. This luxury golf community boasts two challenging 18-hole golf courses. The community sits at the western edge of the lower Verde River with the Tonto National Forest on the community's northern and eastern borders. On the southern border lies the active adult community of Rio Verde. Tonto Verde is located minutes north of Fountain Hills at the intersection of Forest Drive and Rio Verde Drive. From Fountain Hills drive north on McDowell Mountain Road, an extension of Fountain Hills Boulevard, to Forest Road. At Forest Road turn left.
