Located just a few minutes away from Fountain Hills is the shimmering jewel in the desert known as the Fort McDowell Resort & Casino. The Fort McDowell Casino is open 24 hours a day and offers Live Keno, Live Bingo, Poker, Blackjack, and of course plenty of slot machines.
The Keno games run every 3 to 5 minutes where players mark their tickets with up to 15 numbers and watch for their numbers to come up out of the 20 numbers drawn. Non-hotel & Spa Service guests may use the fitness equipment & pool areas at the Fort McDowell Resort and Casino for a per-day service fee. The pool area is open from sunrise to sunset daily and is not attended by a lifeguard. The pool may close due to inclement weather or unforeseen conditions at the Fort’s discretion.
We-Ko-Pa has two stunning 18-hole world-class golf courses that will amaze and delight the most experienced and travelled golfer. The Cholla Course was opened in December 2001 and the Saguaro Course was opened on December 16, 2006. Each course has won numerous awards including placement in ten best new courses by Golf Magazine and Sports Illustrated. We-Ko-Pa has a full practice facility that includes practice balls, a large area for short game work, fairway and greenside practice bunkers as well as a large putting green. There is a $15 fee for the use of the practice facility.
The We-Ko-Pa clubhouse is an incredible piece of architecture done in the “desert vernacular” style that draws inspiration from the surrounding desert landscape. Spectacular views of the McDowell Mountains, Red Mountain, Four Peaks and the Superstitions are offered at various locations in and around the clubhouse. A full pro shop and a restaurant can fulfill any needs a golfer might have during his or her day at the links, and a large, open patio area is a great place to enjoy a drink and some food and to discuss the great day that was had at We-Ko-Pa.

Ahnala Mesquite Grille is the premier fine dining restaurant on the property. The chef has created an eclectic menu featuring southwestern cuisine with a Spanish flare. The Silver Platter has good old-fashioned burgers and shakes and is open from 7am to midnight daily.
A New York Deli is in the middle of casino action and serves a great variety of the freshest deli sandwiches this side of Brooklyn.
If you have worked up a huge appetite, you'll want to check out the Red Rock Buffet all-you-can-eat buffet. Featuring incredible variety and excellent quality, Monday through Thursday the all-you-can-eat buffet is only $8.95! And come by on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for all-you-can-eat crab legs for $13.95 all day.
If you are looking for something slightly more exotic, check out Noodles Sushiya. Get all of your favorite standard sushi selections plus try out some of the chef’s exotic fusions if you are feeling more adventurous.
Once you have satisfied your hunger and are ready to party a bit, check out the Lucky 7 Saloon featuring live entertainment on Friday through Saturday nights.
If you are golfing at the We-Ko-Pa course, they have a restaurant in the clubhouse with both indoor and outdoor seating. The clubhouse and surrounding scenery is so beautiful you wil lwant to eat there even if you don’t golf. Many non-golfers from Fountain Hills eat on the patio regularly and enjoy the beautiful architecture and scenery.

Throughout the year the Fort sponsors concerts, events and fireworks. Fountain Hills itself does not have fireworks on the fourth of July, but Fort McDowell usually does, and it is quite an impressive show. Additionally, many impressive concerts are held at the resort every year.

If you want a little taste of the old-west, Fort McDowell Adventures is a short ride away down the dusty trail. Fort McDowell Adventures offers a number of different venues for group activities and entertainment options. Trail rides, Native American storytellers & dancers, hiking & biking tours, and many more activities are offered depending on the time of the year.
Nearby Fountain Hills has numerous entertainment and dining options (take a good look at the Dining Guide in FountainHillsGuide.com!) Old Town Scottsdale is a beautiful 30-minute drive away. Payson and the Zane Grey’s fabled Mogollon Rim country is a little more than an hour up the Beeline (another spectacular drive!) Dozens of Hiking and Mountain Biking trails are nearby. Saguaro Lake is a short distance away (yes – another spectacular drive!)
Many residents of Fountain Hills have lived here for years and not taken advantage of all the activities available, so there is plenty to do unless the only activity you find fun is surfing!
