Many people live in and visit Fountain Hills for one activity - GOLF! With such a great climate, the Fountain Hills area is a wonderful place to go on a golf vacation in the fall, winter or spring. Even in the heat of midsummer, an early round of golf can be quite comfortable.
Many communities in Arizona are built around a golf course. In the Fountain Hills area, all of the courses except for We-Ko-Pa are either golf communities or have houses lining some or most of the fairways. Most of the courses here are considered ''target'' or ''desert'' courses in that the fairways are fairly tight and there are often ''landing areas'' rather than one contiguous stretch of fairway from tee to green.
