A Stroll on the Avenue

With the holiday season in full swing, there is nothing that gets local residents in the spirit of the season better than the Lighting and Stroll along the Avenue of the Fountains. The annual event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, brings hundreds of families out for an evening stroll in downtown Fountain Hills. Several popular attractions including the official lighting of the holiday decorations along Avenue of the Fountains, the live nativity scene complete with live animals, several groups of carolers, and the arrival of Santa Claus on a decorated fire truck make the stroll a popular evening to get outside.

1.) Children welcome Santa. 2.) A social affair on the sidewalk.

Generally, temperatures are quite cool in the evening hours giving residents the opportunity to bundle up. Families and friends join together to socialize and sing carols. Shops along the Avenue welcome strollers in for a warm cup of cider or cocoa. It's a special time for our community.

The event began at dusk with the lighting of thousands of lights spanning a two block stretch of the Avenue of the Fountains. The lights will remain on display through the end of the year. The center greenbelt between the eastbound and westbound sides of the street are lined with colorfully lighted displays. The trees are also decorated with giant snowflakes and angels. There is also a large Poinsettia tree on display.
