A Stroll on the Avenue: Page 2 of 3

Near the east end of the Avenue there was a live nativity scene. The display included volunteers from a local church and several live animals including goats, sheep and a mule for spectators to pet and enjoy.

A devote shepherd introduced his livestock to the crowd.

Children enjoyed petting the animals.

The baby Jesus rested in his manger while Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and all the Fountain Hills residents looked on. Though the costumes appeared authentic, a closer look revealed some familiar faces including Mike Sharnow, Editor of the Fountain Hills Times Newspaper, and family.

Up and down the Avenue, the sound of carolers could be heard including the Girl Scouts of Fountain Hills who congregated in an area across from Gridleys of Fountain Hills. Hundreds of spectators joined in for some of the Christmas Carols making for a festive experience.

The Girl Scouts of Fountain Hills sang carols while others looked on.
