A rare sight.
A cold winter storm delivers a blanket of snow on the McDowells.
Winter storms occasionally deliver snow to lower elevations of Arizona
but once the clouds disappear snow generally can only be seen on Four
Peaks and the higher elevation mountains in the far distance.
On January 30, 2002, Fountain Hills experienced a cold
weather storm that left snow atop the McDowell Mountains. The range
tops out at just over 4000 feet in elevation.
