Local Golf Courses: With two challenging 18-hole championship golf courses, Tonto Verde is a popular golf community. Designed by golf course architects David Graham and Gary Panks, both courses maintain the natural landscape and contours of the desert. The Peaks course, designed by both architects, is 6,744 yards while the Ranch course, individually designed by Panks, plays at 6,988 yards. Both courses are a challenging experience for golfers of any ability. Golf carts feature an onboard GPS yardage and course information system. Golfers are allowed to leave cart paths to ball locations. These advancements allow Tonto Verde to maintain a smooth pace of play. Tonto Verde is located near the intersection of Rio Verde Drive and Forest Road. The community is adjacent to Rio Verde. Both communities are located minutes north of Fountain Hills.
