Local Golf Courses: This par 72 golf course opened in December of 2001 on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Reservation. We-Ko-Pa, meaning "Four Peaks" in Yavapai, was gently carved into the rolling foothills of the lower Verde River Valley near Fountain Hills. This picturesque golf course was designed by Scottsdale architect, Scott Miller, creator of Eagle Mountain DC Ranch and Kierland Golf Courses. The views are likely to be the most memorable feature of the golf experience at We-Ko-Pa. Mountain Vistas are visible from just about every vantage point on the course. Future plans for the $125 million project include another 18-hole course and a nine-hole executive layout.
