Take A Hike!
Fountain Hills

Dixie Mine Trail, Box Canyon, and the jeep road cut into the side of the mountain above Fountain Hills could be considered Fountain Hills hikes. However, they are listed under McDowell Mountains Hikes on this web site.

Within the Town of Fountain Hills there is a short hike worth mentioning. Along the ridge above the back side of Fountain Lake there is a maintained hiking trail that traverses the ridge just below residential property. Though the trail is not in a pristine area, it is a nice trail for looking down over Fountain Lake and other parts of the community. The trail can be accessed by taking La Montana Drive east from Saguaro Boulevard. Travel up to the top of the hill beyond the first residential gate on the right. Just before the hill crests and below the condominiums on the ridge, the trail access is on the right.

The hike offers views of Saguaros and the McDowell Mountains.

Pleasant views of the community can be seen from this trail.
