Take A Hike!
McDowell Mountain Hikes

A few scenic and challenging hiking trails lead hikers far into the depths of the McDowell Mountain Range. Most trails in the range are unmarked but well-traveled. Some are single-track horse trails others jeep trails. Access to some of the trails are easy with unofficial trailheads leaving from paved streets, others are only accessible via jeep roads and graded unpaved roads.

Peaks in the range:
Thompson Peak............3982 feet
McDowell Peak..............4034 feet
East End Peak..............4067 feet.

Due to efforts to preserve land with in the McDowell Mountains, several hikes in this area have been closed to the public while the land is being negotiated for acquisition. We have been asked to remove them from our site until further notice. Eventually and hopefully, these two fabulous hikes will be available again in the future.
