Take A Hike!
Mogollon Rim Hikes

The pine forests, spring fed streams, cool temperatures, spectacular views, grazing elk and other wildlife make a visit to the Mogollon Rim a real treat in the hot summer months of the Sonoran Desert. Even better is the short driving distance to this wonderland from Fountain Hills. A trip from Fountain Hills to the top of the rim can take as little as an hour to an hour and a half. The short trip makes trails above the rim good destinations for day hiking.

The Mogollon Rim area offers a great deal of hiking trails across three different National Forests. Coconino and Apache-Sitgreaves are both above the rim, while Tonto National Forest is below the rim.

Listed below are three areas that offer day hikes into the forests of the Mogollon Rim.
