Rim Country Tribute First and foremost we at FountainHillsGuide.com wish to offer our sincerest condolences to those who have suffered the loss of their home as a result of the Rodeo-Chediski wildfires. Though we have not lost our primary residence like many of our fellow Arizonans who reside in the effected area, we suffer along side those who have lost a second home to the fires. Our family summer getaway, located in Overgaard, Arizona, burned to the ground. Though the property was relatively new, our family had shared some memorable experiences there. Having experienced the loss first-hand, and knowing there are many Fountain Hills residents who have suffered the loss of private property as a result of the blaze, we have created a special section of our site to pay tribute to the Mogollon Rim Country we all cherish. We would like to ask anybody, not just Fountain Hills residents, who would like to send us a photograph of a special moment on the Rim, a Rim Country pristine scene, a portrait of your summer getaway, (whether it be your cabin or a favorite camp spot) to please do so. Along with the photo please include a brief description of the shot and a comment about the fires and the loss we have all suffered. This section is a tribute to all areas of Rim Country, therefore, the subject of your photo does not have to be of an area that has burned. If your summer residence is located away from the burn area, such as Happy Jack, you are encouraged to participate. Your property could have just as easily been the victim of a fire. As the area once again opens to the public, we would like to ask that a before and after photograph be sent to us so we can post comparisons. As time passes, we will also post progress images to show the natural cycle of the rehabilitation of the forest.
