Fountain Hills Horseback Riding

Arizona's ranch heritage is, in large part, centered on horseback riding. The community of Fountain Hills itself began as a cattle ranch. Needless to say, Arizona offers limitless horseback riding opportunities. Stables scattered around the Sonoran Desert attract visitors looking to experience a little of the old west. The incredible network of trails throughout the state were, for the most part, established by horse clubs in years past.

For those who wish to spend an afternoon horseback riding in the Sonoran Desert, a local stable will be suitable. Consider either Fort McDowell Adventures, Saguaro Lake Ranch, or for a ride into the Superstition Mountains, try Don Donnelly Horseback Vacations and Stables.

Horse owners have limitless options within close proximity of Fountain Hills. McDowell Mountain Regional Park offers an extensive trail system. The park trails connect to other trails that lead into the McDowell Mountains. Four Peaks Wilderness also offers some spectacular horseback riding. The graded gravel road ends at the Lone Saddle Trailhead. There is plenty of horse trailer parking. Water is scarce in the Four Peaks mountain area.
