River of Time Museum

The Fountain Hills and Lower Verde River Valley has compiled historical information and collected memorabilia about Fountain Hills as well as the surrounding region. The collection will be on display in the new "River of Time" museum slated to open in the Spring of 2002. The museum will be located in the new Public Library building in the Town Center complex on La Montana Drive.

This building, in the Town Center complex, is the new home of the museum.

Citizens and Volunteers congregate during the grand opening of the Community Center.

A model of the future museum is on display in the facility.

The fascinating history of Fountain Hills, Fort McDowell, Fort McDowell-Yavapai Community, Rio Verde, wagon trails, military activity, exploration, and much more will be showcased within the museum.

A makeshift museum had originally been located in a portable building located adjacent to the Fountain Bazaar, a complex that has since been replaced by the new Plaza Fountainside at Fountain Park.

Society President Alan Cruikshank, an early days resident, is recognized as a historian of the community. Cruikshank, the Publisher of the local Fountain Hills Times newspaper often writes about past community experiences in his weekly column.
