Avenue of the Fountains - Downtown Fountain Hills Avenue of the Fountains is considered by most residents to be "downtown" Fountain Hills. This beautifully shaded corridor resembles a quaint Main Street setting. The center island between the Eastbound and Westbound lanes is a green grassy park with giant Sycamore and Pine trees. Each year the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce holds several events along the Avenue. In spring its the Fountain Hills Great Fair. In Fall its the Fountain Hills Fall Festival of Arts and Crafts. In Winter the Avenue becomes a Holiday wonderland with hundreds of thousands of decorative lights and luminarias. See Chamber under Services for events schedule. The North side of the Avenue of the Fountains is nearly fully developed with a selection of unique shops for browsing on an afternoon stroll up the Avenue. The South side of the street (Plat 208) has not been developed to date. At the Western end of the plat, between La Montana and Verde River Drives the Avenue is currently being developed by the Town of Fountain Hills. This area will be home to the new Fountain Hills Community Center, Fountain Hills Public Library, and The River of Time Museum. The remaining section of the plat has been designed and is slated for development in the not so distant future. This area will add a wide assortment of dining, entertainment, and shopping.
