An Introduction to Our Community

Fountain Hills is situated on the Eastern slope of the McDowell Mountains approximately 500 feet in elevation above Phoenix. This majestic range naturally separates the community from Scottsdale and the rest of metropolitan Phoenix. McDowell Peak, the tallest peak in the McDowells, is 4,034 feet. One of the most recognizable natural landmarks, Red Mountain, towers over the community at 2,830 feet. Four Peaks Mountain, to the Northeast rises to a height of 7,694 feet. The community is bordered by McDowell Mountain Regional Park on the north, the Salt River Indian Reservation on the south, the Fort McDowell Indian Reservation on the east, and the McDowell Mountains on the west.

Fountain Hills is home to the "world's tallest fountain". At full power, the fountain rises 560 feet into the air. The fountain runs for approximately 15 minutes at the top of the hour, from 10a.m. to 9p.m. daily.
